A Tarkwa Circuit Court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo has remanded a 23-year old man Kwasi Voluba, alias red, for murder.
His plea was not taken and the court ordered him to re-appear on June 4, 2009.
The Prosecuting Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Adufa told the court that the complainant Francis Tano, a teacher, lives at Manso Nkwanta near Wassa Akropong, whilst the suspect and Kingsly Adama, alias Olontwoe, now deceased live at Nsonyameye.
He said the suspect who was married to one Nana Yaa was separated from her due to a misunderstanding, and Nana Yaa moved from her matrimonial home in Nsonyameye to Manso Nkwanta.
According to the Prosecutor, the deceased proposed love to Nana Yaa but she turn down the proposal.
According to the Prosecutor, on May 9, 2009 the suspect paid a visit to his ex-wife at about 7:00pm, and during the same time the deceased also sent a small boy to call Nana Yaa.
The suspect, it was alleged followed Nana Yaa to meet Adama.
The suspect and his friend Charles now at large pounced on Adama and subjected him to severe beatings, making the deceased fall unconscious.
It was at this stage that the complainant Teacher Tano and other witnesses who were attracted to the scene managed to revive the deceased and rushed him to Ajakaa Manso Health Centre. He however died the next day.
The prosecution said the suspected was arrested but his friend Charles managed to escape.
