Three cashiers of Mumuadu Rural Bank at Suhum have been arrested by the police on suspicion of stealing large sums of money from the bank.
A source close to the Suhum police told the GNA that the exact sum of money stolen would be determined after an internal audit had been completed.
The names of the suspects were given as Michael Nti-Gyakari, 28, Paul Mensah, 28, and Frank Darkwa, 34.
The source had it that the theft took place between May 14 and 15 and that at least GHC 27,553 had been stolen by the three cashiers.
It said customers were still sending their pass books for verification and the amount stolen could be far higher than it is suspected.
