The executive committee of the Kaasi Neighbourhood Watch Committee in the Kumasi metropolis has been reconstituted with Mr Samuel Adu-Poku as its chairman.
Other members are Mr Richard Osikani-Afriyie, secretary and Mr Christian K. Ahiataku, treasurer.
Addressing the executives and the 14-member volunteers at a meeting in Kumasi on Monday Mr Charles Oduro Acheampong, assemblyman for Kaasi electoral area, cautioned the volunteers against meting out instant justice to any suspected criminals arrested but hand them over to the police for investigations.
He commended the volunteers for their performances which has reduced drug peddling, crime and indiscipline among some youth at night to the barest minimum.
The assemblyman appealed to corporate bodies for sponsorship in mounting three barriers at strategic points in the area to assist the police/military in its night patrols duties.
Mr Osikani-Afriyie appealed to landlords to honour their monthly contributions of four Ghana cedis promptly to help sustain the volunteers and also provide uniforms and other logistics to enhance their operations.
