The Central Regional Minister, Mrs Ama Benyiwa-Doe has appealed to Ghanaians to avoid unhealthy criticism of their chiefs and contribute to the development of their home towns.
She expressed worry that some people seldom visited home and only went there during funerals or festivals and criticized chiefs for under-development.
Mrs Benyiwa-Doe said these at a thanksgiving service, organized by the people of Abeadze Dominase near Mankessim to thank God for the appointment of Dasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII, Omanhene of Abeadze Traditional Area and President of the Central Regional House of chiefs, as a member of council of state.
She commended Dasebre Ewusi for his humility and determination to improve the living conditions of the people.
Osabarima Kwesi Attah, Omanhene of Oguaa Traditional praised Dasabre Ewusi for his appointment as a member of the Council of State.
Pastor Kwesi Ackah-Baidoo, Cape Coast Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, in a sermon urged chiefs and politicians to be thankful to God for choosing them to lead the people.
He urged leaders to be focused and ensure the progress of the people adding that in the Bible some leaders started well but latter lost focus and failed miserably.
Nana Kwame Nkyi, Omanhene of Assin Apimanim Traditional Area, appealed to parents to exercise control over their children and invest in their education.
Dasebre Ewusi expressed gratitude to President John Evans Atta Mills for appointing him to such a high office of the country and prayed to God to grant him wisdom to enable him to discharge his duties diligently.
