Nana Opare Amankwaah II, Chief of Ahodjo in the Akwapim South Municipal Council, has appealed to political party leaders and supporters to be law-abiding during and after their electioneering campaigns.
He said one way to do that was to refrain from abusive words and actions that would prompt others to misconduct themselves.
Nana Amankwah said this when he addressed a durbar to climax the annual odwira festival of the chiefs and people of Ahodjo near Nsawam on Saturday.
He said irrespective of the fact that people belonged to different political linkages, what mattered most was the fact that "We are all Ghanaians who have to be united and work towards the development of the country.
"In unity, we would be able to create a congenial atmosphere that would enable the youth to develop their potentials," he said.
Nana Amankwah commended the government for establishing the National Insurance Scheme and urged the inhabitants to register in their numbers so that they could get treatments at both clinics and hospitals.
"Do not buy drugs without doctors' prescription or buy concoctions from quack doctors so that you complicate your condition," he warned.
Nana Obuba Otcher, Kyidomhene of the town, commended the chief for his advice and called on the youth to respect their elders and take their studies serious to enable them become useful citizens.
