Two persons on a motor bike, who were knocked down by a Hyundai Haice, near Menzesor died later on admission at the St. Martin De Porres Catholic Hospital at Eikwe in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
They were Mr Stephen Yankey, the rider, 35, from Aiyinase and Mr Sampson Kenya, the pillion rider from Kikam.
The Nzema East Municipal Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dan Ohene-Djan told the GNA in an interview at Axim on Tuesday.
He said on September 11 at 1935 hours, the driver of the Hundai Haice, Frank Atta claimed that he was suddenly crossed by the motor rider at a spot near Menzezor.
He said in the process he knocked the bike and its riders down.
ASP Ohene-Djan said the victims were rushed to the Eikwe Catholic Hospital for treatment but died soon on arrival.
Their bodies have been deposited at the Half-Assini and Axim Government Hospital morgue respectively for autopsy.
He said the driver of the vehicle who was arrested has since been granted Police enquiry bail and would be arraigned before court after investigations.
