The Sudanese Ambassador to Ghana, Gariballa Khidir Ali, has called on the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, to seek Ghana’s support in restoring peace and stability in Sudan amid the country’s ongoing conflict.
During a courtesy visit to Parliament on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Ambassador Khidir Ali commended Ghana for its long-standing reputation as a beacon of democracy and peace on the African continent.
He noted that in times of crisis, Ghana continues to stand out as a trusted ally and a reliable partner.
“We are open to African-led initiatives and solutions, and we believe Ghana can play a pivotal role in this process,” he said, expressing optimism that with the collective efforts of African nations, Sudan could overcome its current challenges and rebuild stability.

Alban Bagbin, in his remarks, thanked the Sudanese delegation for their confidence in Ghana’s leadership and reaffirmed the country’s solidarity with the people of Sudan.
“Sudan remains a strategic partner in Africa’s development, and instability in Sudan affects the continent as a whole,” the Speaker said. “It will take a collective African resolve to bring lasting peace to the region.”
