The kingmakers of James Town Ngleshie Alata did the installation at a colourful ceremony steeped in culture and tradition, on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
The ceremony brought together chiefs, elders, queen mothers, traditional leaders, and members of the Ngleshie Alata community.
Naa Affipong IV swore an oath of allegiance to the principal elders of Adjumako Durampong, affirming her commitment to serve her people diligently.
Naa Affipong IV in an inteview after the installation pledged to dedicate her reign to championing girl-child education, which she described as a crucial tool for community development. She said empowering young girls with knowledge and practical skills would help curb the rising cases of teenage pregnancy in the area.
“I am determined to ensure that our girls have access to both formal education and technical or vocational training. By equipping them with the right skills, they can grow into responsible women who will play key leadership roles in society,” she said.
The new queen mother further encouraged parents and guardians to prioritise the education of their daughters, noting that an educated girl has the potential to transform not only her family but the larger community.
Nii Ayi Okoforobour I, the chief of Ngleshie Alata Lafa Barima, called on the government to support the new queen mother and the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council in their mission to bring lasting peace and development to James Town.
He emphasised that collaboration between traditional leaders and state authorities was vital in addressing the community’s pressing challenges, including unemployment, lack of infrastructure, and social vices.
