The Supreme Court has once again adjourned an injunction application seeking to halt the process that could lead to the impeachment of the Chief Justice, Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo.
When the case was called today, instead of the five Justices of the apex court who were supposed to hear the case, only four appeared.
The court, presided over by Justice Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu, announced that the court had to adjourn the application to May 6, 2025 due to unavoidable reasons.
Present in court today were the Attorney-General (A-G) and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, his Deputy Dr Justice Srem Sai, and Godfred Yeboah Dame, a former (A-G), who is counsel for the applicant.
This is the second time the court has adjourned the application due to reasons beyond its control.
On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the court adjourned the case indefinitely following a request from the Office of the A-G that state attorneys were attending a conference in Accra.
