The President and Founder of Christ Mission Church International (CMCI), Reverend Dr Divine Amartey, has urged the youth to prioritise career development over all other considerations if they were to remain relevant to national development.
In line with this, he said the youth must seek to discourage all acts that had the potential to promote violence and increase unemployment in the country.
In his New Year message contained in a speech copied to the Ghanaian Times on Tuesday, he encouraged the youth, especially christians to place their trust in God, while recognising that “God is with us.”
Reverend Amartey emphasised that just as a house is only built with God’s guidance, every successful endeavour required divine intervention, adding that “Except the Lord build the house, the labourers labour in vain.”
The church leader also stressed the inevitability and importance of tests in life.
Drawing an analogy to the rigorous reliability tests gadgets and cars undergo before being sold, Rev. Amartey explained that these tests, though uncomfortable, were essential for proving a product’s quality.
“Test is a necessary evil,” he stated, adding that every good thing must be tested to prove its standard, and that overcoming challenges leads to greater promotion and success.
He addressed critical societal issues, including violence, unemployment, and corruption.
The Rev. Minister expressed the hope that the nation’s leaders would manage the economy with prudence…the country’s roads would be safer, with motorists and police adhering to regulations in order to prevent accidents.
He further appealed to all institutions to join forces in combating the pervasive issue of corruption, and he urged the people of Ghana to remain steadfast in their faith.
“We trust that the good Lord will give us a good year in spite of all the international pressures and economic volatilities,” he affirmed.
Reverend Almaty concluded his message with a prayer for peace and safety, expressing his belief that Ghana would continue to thrive despite global uncertainties.
He also prayed for a prosperous year ahead, with God’s protection and blessings over the nation, its leaders, and its citizens.
“We bless God and pray that all of you will live in safety and peace in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
