A devastating fire outbreak has destroyed some shops in Bolgatanga, the Upper East Regional Capital.
This outbreak occurred around the stadium traffic light barely a week after a local restaurant around the same venue was razed down by fire.
Firefighters responded swiftly to the incident and managed to extinguish the ravaging fire, however, they were challenged by the access route to the incident.
Confirming the situation to Citi News, the Upper East Regional Public Relations Officer of the Fire Service DO ll Nibunu Callistus stated the incident was reportedly caused by a burning refuse dump which was closer to a tricycle dealer’s shop.
“Investigation revealed that there was rubbish that was burnt behind a dealer’s shop and it was not properly done, the fire got into contact with some oil and containers that escalated it.”
