SEED 2 FEED Bible Institute International (SFBI-INT), a non-profit chaplaincy organisation dedicated to supporting local communities, has disinfected dormitories and classroom blocks of TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Kumasi.
The African Director of the SFBI Foundation, Apostle Bright Owusu Agyemang, who is also an alumnus of the school, led a team of five chaplains, including his wife and some experts, to conduct the nearly eight-hour disinfection exercise on January 2, 2025.
Apostle Owusu Agyemang revealed that his frequent engagements with the school had brought to light the issue of bedbug infestations, which the school authorities identified as a major obstacle to effective teaching and learning.
"I believe the government alone cannot shoulder all these responsibilities. We, as old students, have a role to play in uplifting the image of our alma mater," he remarked, assuring the school authorities of the organisation’s continued support.
He added, "The Holy Spirit is a comforter, and wherever His presence is, there should be comfort. We are proud to have played a part in making this exercise a reality." He further encouraged other alumni and well-wishers to support the school whenever the need arises.
"This is, indeed, one of the school’s major challenges—bedbugs everywhere. Our classrooms and dormitories were in dire condition," stated Madam Esi Gambrah Sampene, the Senior House Mistress of the school, during the fumigation exercise.
"This is a timely intervention. Our school will forever be grateful to individuals and organisations that show their benevolence whenever we call on them for support, whether in cash or kind," she added.
Madam Sampene also noted that the school had been struggling with severe pest infestations, which negatively impacted the health and well-being of students and staff. She lauded the group for responding promptly to fumigate the premises before the new term begins.
