On Friday, November 29th, an eight-hour general strike took place in Italy, called by trade unions CGIL and UIL, to push for significant changes to the government’s budget law. The unions are demanding higher wages and pensions, increased funding for healthcare, education, and public services, as well as strategic investments in industrial policy. The nationwide mobilization unfolded across 43 cities, aimed at opposing the government’s unfair and misguided policies.
