Sitsofe Sah has been sworn in as the national president of the Power Queens Club, the female wing of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

This follows her recent election to succeed the outgoing president - Doreen Carol Anning Gyebi, whose tenure has ended.

Other executives of the club who were also sworn into office last Friday in Accra included the Vice President, Rosemond Boafo; Secretary, Regina Bentil; Assistant Secretary, Stella Sefah Appiah; Treasurer, Bernice Safoah Tagoe; Financial Secretary, Patience Amuzu; Organiser, Emma Aba Amissah; Porter, Deborah Duncan; and Sports Coordinator, Mavis Aryee.

At the swearing-in ceremony, the club's mobile app and website were also officially launched.

The new digital platforms, an achievement of the new administration, are designed to improve member engagement and communication while providing easy access to club resources and training materials.

In her acceptance speech, Ms Sah expressed gratitude for the trust and support of members. She vowed to continue empowering women within the ECG while driving unity and progress.

She emphasised the club's core values of unity and love, noting that her leadership would promote collaboration, personal development and greater visibility for women in the club.

"I am committed to ensuring that the Power Queens Club becomes an even stronger force for women's advancement not only within ECG but across the nation," she said.

Commenting on the app and website, Ms Sah explained, "This platform is not just about technology is about creating opportunities. It will allow members to access vital resources, engage in training and stay connected with the club no matter where they are."

Ms Anning Gyebi said, "This is a proud moment for all of us. Today, we have shown that the Power Queens Club is ready for the future".

Opportunities

She called for unity and love to drive progress and opportunities for all.

A deputy Managing Director of the ECG in charge of Engineering and Operations, Mr Kwadwo Ayensu Obeng, said the club had been a pillar within the ECG family, serving as a platform where women came together to demonstrate leadership, foster unity and drive positive change in the company.

The club, he said, had shown that it was a network of support for women, and added that from a professional development programme to mentorship and training initiatives, “The Power Queens Club has inspired women across ECG and beyond to rise to their full potential”.
