The National Media Commission (NMC) has reconstituted the boards of the various state-owned media in the country.

The new boards of the Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL), the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and the New Times Corporation (NTC) comprise nine members each, with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) having eight members.

The GCGL board is chaired by a banker and credit analyst, Ebenezer Asante Sefa, and has Yaw D. Oppong, Kyei-Brobbey Ishaq, Roderick Emil Larsen Reindorf, and Prof. Kofi Afranie as members.

The rest are Nana Ama Poku, Dr Gilbert Tietaah, Juliet Amoah and the Managing Director, Ato Afful.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by the Deputy Executive Secretary of the NMC, Alexander Bannerman, also named Samuel Kojo Intsiaba as the Chairman of the GBC board, which also has Dr Tanoh Debrah, Francis Dadzie, Peter Djakwah, Ama Serwa N-T and Thomas Broni as members.

The rest are Adjei Afriyie Nketia, Raymond Kumah Acquah and the Director General of GBC, Prof. Amin Alhassan.

The new GNA board has Nana Gyan Apenteng as Chairman, with Alexander Mawusi Kofi Buadi, Nana Sefa Twum, Ivy Hoetu, Kwasi Adu-Mante, Rev. Helena Opoku Sarkodie, Emmanuel Ahene-Affoh and the General Manager, Mr Albert Kofi Owusu, as members.
 

On the other hand, Prof. Kwamina Quansah Aidoo chairs the nine-member NTC board, which comprises Kwesi Adjei Kersi, Theresa Larteley Adu, Ambassador Lawrence Roland Satuh, Dr Charity Binka and Julio De-Medeiros Esq.

The rest are Samuel S. Sarfo, Abdul Moomin Gbana and the Managing Director, Martin Adu-Owusu. 

The statement said the reconstitution of the boards was in accordance with Article 168 of the Constitution and section 2(1)(e) of the National Media Commission Act, 1993 (Act 449), which enjoins the NMC to appoint the governing boards of public corporations managing the state-owned media in consultation with the President.
