Violet is a young Ghanaian entrepreneur, the Founder and CEO of Skin Gournment limited – dealers in RAW handmade high-quality skincare sourced from the Wilds of Ghana.
She is a high energy super hopeful entrepreneur who has always been passionate about people and has attained Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business administration - specializinViolet and the rest of the Top 20 African entrepreneurs are currently undergoing various training and evaluation where after the Top 10 will be announced late September or early October. These will be headed to the grand finale where they will each pitch their business ideas live to global business legends in November to determine who takes what share of the USD 1.5 million prize pool.
I believe many startups and upcoming entrepreneurs across Ghana will be happy hear more about this grant opportunity to enable them apply in the coming editions, especially at time when many are in a constant struggle due to limited capital accelerated by the pandemic.
We would like to offer you an interview with Violet who is representing Ghana to share more about the Africa's Business Heroes competition, her entrepreneurial journey, what inspired her into becoming an entrepreneur and what community problem in Ghana she's trying to solve through entrepreneurship. This year's Top 20 entrepreneurs represent 11 African countries, including Nigeria (4), Kenya (3), Uganda (3), South Africa (2), Egypt (2), Ghana (1), Botswana (1), Rwanda (1), Tanzania (1), Cote d'Ivoire (1), and Togo (1). Of the Top 20 45% are female. There is an enormous diversity in the type of businesses, with sixteen different sectors represented including agriculture, beauty & wellness, construction, consulting, education, energy, environmental protection, financial services, Food & Beverages, healthcare, ICT, logistics, manufacturing, media & entertainment, retail, and transportation.g in marketing, supply chain management and accounting. In 2014, Violet created Skin Gourmet with GHS 145 (USD 45.00). Skin Gourmet is now distributed in over 17 different countries and Violet has been featured in Glitz and EMY Magazine as an emerging industry leader. Skin Gourmet has been featured in Forbes, Elle, Pop Sugar, and Indian Cosmopolitan for an Editor’s Best Product Pick Award.
