The Ghana Police Service has urged the public to comply with the mandatory mask wearing to stem the spread of COVID-19.
"Please let us do this to safeguard our health, our families, our loved ones and our country. COVID-19 is real, it kills but you can prevent it."
This was cited on the Police Service's Facebook platform to appeal to Ghanaians to join the fight against the pandemic.
It said the police expected immediate compliance from the public on the mandatory wearing of facemasks as directed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The President, in his last address to the nation, mandated the Police to ensure people wore masks to stop the spread of the disease.
