Deaconess Mrs Comfort Anane-Poku, the Area Women's Ministry Leader of the Church of Pentecost, Dansoman, Accra, has expressed the need for women to put to use their entrepreneurial skills.
She said women were endowed with gifts such as cooking and craftsmanship and could make a difference in the society when they start doing business with it.She was speaking at an Exhibition and Food Fair, organised by the Gbegbeyise District of the Dansoman Area as part of activities to celebrate this year's Women's Ministry Week.
It was on the theme: "I am a woman of prayer,” and aimed at empowering women to be agents of change in every aspect of their lives.Deconness Anane – Poku said: "Although prayer is necessity for survival as a Christian, it is also necessary to skillfully equip yourself as a woman so as to be an asset to your family and generation in this world where women play vital roles in the upkeep of the family."
Mrs Hannah Doudu, Gbegbeyise District Pastor's Wife, also encouraged women to learn how to cook variety of meals for their families.She said: "This exhibition emphasis the need for women to be examples of Christ in their homes especially cooking meals from their loved ones.""And has brought to light variety of food enjoyed across the length and breadth of the country, which beautifies and unifies Ghanaians as a people."
Deaconess Gladys Sarfo, Leader of the District, urged the youth to "hold forth the mantle of the older generation as it is but a sign of transfer of better grace God is gifting the church with".She said: "The exhibition was such an example of learning from both the young and old and the blend will help raise a better generation for the church, country and world at large."
