The Indian High Commission in Ghana has presented
solar cookers and a motorbike to the Ho Nurses Training School.
The cookers, which were made in India, are to replace the school’s gas cookers to cut the cost involved in using gas, especially in cooking, for
the large population of students.
The presentation followed an appeal made by Mama Attratoh II, Queen of Ho-Dome, who is the Board Chairperson for the School.
Mrs Ruthi Ghanashyam, Indian High Commissioner in Ghana, who presented the items, expressed the hope that the items would be put to good use and maintained to prolong their lifespan.
Mama Attratoh commended the Indian High Commission for its quick response to the request and said the School was interested in a long lasting
relationship with the High Commission.
She called for more assistance in the form of educational scholarships for the students and tutors.
Mrs Josephine Gyeabour, Vice Principal of the School, who received the items, described them as “good assets” and assured that they would be put to
good use.
She said the School was in dire need of classroom and hostel infrastructure and called on the High Commission and other benevolent
organizations to assist the School.
