The Kumasi branch of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, has donated items valued at about GH¢10,000.00 for the upkeep of children at the Mother Theresa Missionaries of Charity New Life Home, an orphanage in Kumasi.
These included 88 pieces of Latex Foam mattresses, confectioneries, bags of rice, maize, edible oil, tins of tomato and milk.
Mr Tarek Minkara, the President, said the gesture was part of their contribution to efforts at making life a bit comfortable for the underprivileged and socially disadvantaged.
He re-affirmed their determination to build on the warm relations between Ghana and Lebanon and said the hospitality they had enjoyed in the country over the years had simply been phenomenal.
Mr Minkara said they were grateful for this and would do everything to strengthen and sustain the friendship.
Ms Esther Owusu, a staff of the Home, thanked the Union for the donation and said the Lebanese community had been helpful to them in diverse ways over the years.
