Nana Kusi Obuadum Antwi II, Chief of Wawase in the Afigya-Kwabre District, has called on people in the area to give more support to the assembly as it works hard to inject some pace into the socio-economic development of the district.
They should do their bit to improve their living conditions through self-help.
“It is time organizations, groups and individuals both at home and abroad contributed their quota to the district’s development,” he said.
Nana Kusi Obuadom said this when he received two computers and accessories together with library books donated to the local basic school.
Mr Kwaku Oppong-Kyekyeku Kaakyire, the District Chief Executive, made the presentation at a ceremony held at Wawase.
The books were jointly donated by AweSome Books Incorporated of the United Kingdom (UK) and International Books Project in Kentucky, US.
Nana Kusi Obuadum said the presence of foreign organizations and individuals in the district to aid its development should inspire the people to do more by themselves.
Mr Kaakyire said the two organizations had voluntarily made available over 20,000 assorted books for distribution to basic and second cycle institutions in the district.
He said the Assembly would continue to provide classrooms, furniture, teachers’ quarters and books and it was up to the school children to take advantage of the opportunity to pursue academic careers.
Mr Ignatius Nwimbe-Ere Der, the District Director of Education, commended the teaching staff for their hard work and urged them to keep it up
