Mr Tom Budu, Akyemmansa District Chief Executive has called on traditional rulers to use annual festivals as a platform to fight indiscipline.
This, he said, would help to promote the national crusade to eradicate indiscipline from the society.
Mr Budu was addressing a gathering at the swearing ceremony of 55-year-old Barima Amoabeng-Okoh Awuakye I, as the Berenasehene (chief of Berenase) and Adontehene of Akim Bosome Traditional Area at Akim Swedru in the Eastern Region.
Barima Awuakye, known in private life as Mr Frank Awuakye, is a Toronto-based businessman.
He swore the Oath of Allegiance to the Paramount Chief, Okotwasuo Kantamanto Oworae Agyekum III.
Mr Budu congratulated Barima Awuakye on his enstoolment and advised him to put the interest of the State above his ideological, political and personal inclinations.
Barima Awuakye assured the chiefs and people of the traditional area that he would use his new position to pursue the development agenda to help lay a solid foundation for prosperity.
He pledged to support the education of pupils especially the needy ones in the area and contribute his quota to provide public utility services and amenities to the Berenase community.
The Queen Mother of the Traditional Area, Nana Kwartema Minkyim II, asked the people to forge unity of purpose to facilitate development.
Okotwasuo Agyekum called on the new chief to put up his best efforts to enhance the development of his community.
