The Omanhene of Asante-Asokore, Nana Susubiribi
Krobea Asante, has given 5,000 dollars to the Ahmadiyya Senior High School to build an assembly hall.
He has additionally given out GH¢3,000 towards the rehabilitation of Asokore Methodist Junior High School (JHS).
Nana Krobea Asante told Ghana News Agency that his goal was to help create the right environment for effective teaching and learning in the
traditional area.
He said education was central to his development agenda since it is the key to career aspirations.
The Omanhene, a celebrated constitutional lawyer, said he was determined to make his own educational accomplishment serve as an inspiration to students in the area.
With the support of donors, the traditional Council has established a Technical and Vocational Training Institute "Krobea Asante
Vocational/Training Institute."
The school has now been absorbed into the national education system and was offering employable skills training to students from all parts of the country.
Nana Krobea Asante said following the intervention of the traditional council, a number of schools under trees had also been provided with classrooms by the government.
He said he had been visiting the schools to interact with both teachers and school children to learn at first hand their major challenges and how to address them.
The Omanhene said such tours are used to encourage the pupils and students to be ambitious and make the most of the opportunities in the
highly competitive modern world.
He commended the teachers for the good job they were doing with the limited facilities.
