Dovi Saviour, 43, a driver and Francis Apuri, 38, a civil engineer, were on Wednesday, arraigned before a Takoradi Circuit court for forgery and abetment of crime respectively.
They pleaded not guilty and were granted bail to re-appear in court on November 25.
Prosecuting, Sergeant Bernard Annor said on November 1, this year, the complainant Frederick Nkrumah, who is a security officer at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority bought a Benz Caravan from Dovi Saviour at the cost of GHc3,200.
The prosecutor said while the complainant was driving the vehicle he was arrested by Customs Excise and Preventive (CEPS) taskforce and the vehicle was seized for possessing fake car documents.
Sgt Annor said after the police and CEPS investigation, it was detected that, the Chasis number of the vehicle had been tempered with and the documents on the vehicle fake.
The prosecution said further police investigation revealed that, Francis Apuri sold the vehicle to Saviour who also sold it to the
complainant.
The two accused persons were charged with forgery and abetment of crime and arraigned before the court.
