Religious organisations in Dormaa-Ahenkro have been asked to encourage their members to participate in the 2010 Population and Housing Census.
The Reverend Felix John Yeboah, Chairman of Dormaa-Ahenkro Local council of Churches, who made the appeal, condemned religious groups that claim their doctrines do not allow members to participate in national exercises.
Speaking to GNA at Dormaa-Ahenkro on Thursday, the clergyman said: "Religious organisations do not exist in isolation hence the need for all religious denominations to regard themselves as part and parcel of the state that provides security for its nationals to live in peace and go about their chosen occupations without fear or intimidation".
Rev. Yeboah, who is also Dormaa District Pastor of Assemblies of God Church, called for Church-State partnership for national development.
He also called on Ghanaians, particularly Christians to support national events such as elections, census and immunization.
