The Police at Nsawam Police have arrested a gang of three men for allegedly kidnapping, detaining, and raping a 17-year-old Junior High School girl at Noka near Nsawam.
Nsawam District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Alex Wowolo, who confirmed the story to GNA, mentioned Eric Tetteh, 22, Hayford Adom, 21, and Seth Engin alias Fifi, 19, as the suspects while Ernest Opare, 22, was on the ran.
DSP Wowolo said that a locally manufactured pistol, two live caterages, knives, SMS Tigo chips and 20 mobile phones were found in the rooms of the suspects after a research was conducted.
He said the student was kidnapped on his way home to collect school fees from the father.
DSP Wowolo said on reaching the Nsawam lorry station, the girl decided to charge her mobile phone but when she returned to collect it the man in charge of the place said he could not find the phone.
The District Police Commander said that girl followed the suspects home after they confronted her and promised to give her a new mobile phone.
He said that the suspects detained the girl in Opare's room for two weeks and raped her in turns and warned the girl not to revealed her ordeal to anybody else she would die.
DSP Wowolo said someone in the neighbourhood informed the Police about the matter and the suspects were arrested.
