The Adjabeng Magistrate's Court has granted a GH3,000-bail, with one surety, to Pastor Victor Annan of the Faith Demonstration Ministry International at Darkuman, a suburb of Accra for
disturbing public peace.
He pleaded not guilty and he was rescheduled to reappear on the July 12, 2010.
The court, presided by Miss Patricia Quansah, also restrained Pastor Annan from making excessive noise during church activities in the night on the church's premises.
Prosecuting, Miss Linda Kumbonu, of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Public Health Unit, told the court that the accused is the pastor in
charge of the Darkuman branch of the Church.
She said following persistent complaints from the residents about the excessive noise during church activities, especially at night, a taskforce
was detailed to the area on February two, 2010.
The accused was found using loud musical instruments disturbing the people living in the community.
Miss Kumbonu told the court that views sampled from neighbours and nearby residents confirmed that they were having sleepless nights continually and lack of concentration because of the excessive noise from the church.
