Officials of the Tema West Sub-Metro, at the weekend, presented sanitary equipment valued at GHC100 to the Tema General Hospital (TGH).
Mr Romeo Akahoho, Chairman of the Sub-Metro, who made the presentation on behalf of the Assembly, said as an infant Assembly, it was its widow's mite to support the Hospital in its bid to keep a clean environment.
Mr Akahoho promised the authorities of the Hospital that since it was situated within the Sub-Metro, regular donations would be made to assist it in healthcare delivery.
Mr Felix Osei-Safo, Health Service Administrator of TGH, received the items on behalf of the authorities, and thanked the Assembly for its wonderful gesture.
Mr Osei-Safo urged other public-spirited organisations to go to the aid of the Hospital with similar donations.
Earlier in the day, staff of the Sub-Metro, which starts from Community 12 right down to the Coca Cola Roundabout, undertook clean-ups in the Texpo, Kotobaabi and Adjei Kojo Markets.
Mr Kingsley Kwame Appiah, Presiding Member of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, commended the Sub-Metro for the communal spirit, and urged its
sustenance.
