The Omanhen of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area, Obrifo Ahunaku Ahor Ankobea II, has called on religious leaders to use pastoral letters to communicate with members of their churches instead of using the media.
He said by so doing members of the churches would have time to discuss the contents of the letters and offer views and suggestions without the general public getting to know the contents.
Commenting on the communiqué issued by the leadership of the Church of Pentecost on a dress-code for female members to church service, Obrifo Ahor Ankobea, known in private life as Elder Stephen Adams, a member of the Church, said the way a section of the media handled the communiqué cast a slur on the reputation of the Church.
He said the Church was noted for its decency in public life, and that if the issue of the dress code was not carefully handled it could erode the decency it had jealously guarded over the years.
The Church Elder said it was dangerous for the Church to permit female members to put on trousers to Church as some of them could use it to expose their panties and beads in a fashion known as "I am aware" to entice men and pastors in the Church.
On the sitting arrangements, the Omanhen said the old order must be maintained, stressing that males and females sharing the same pews in a Church could encourage immoral practices.
