The flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that the Ghana Music Xperience (GMX) streaming platform represents a historic movement for the country.
Ghana’s music industry took a significant step forward on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, with the launch of the Ghana Music Xperience (GMX) streaming platform.
The event, held at the De Iconic Events Centre in East Legon, was graced by stakeholders of the entertainment industry and government officials.
Among the notable attendees were Vice President and NPP Flagbearer Mahamudu Bawumia, Tourism, Creative Arts, and Culture Minister Andrew Egyapa Mercer, MUSIGA President Bessa Simons, and Ghana Tourism Authority CEO Akwesi Agyeman.
The entertainment world was also well-represented, with stars like E.L., Zapp Mallet, Hammer Of The Last 2, Appietus, Samini, Fred Kyei Mensah, and Kaywa in attendance.
The event was further enlivened by a magnificent performance from legendary traditional artiste King Ayisoba.
Speaking as the special guest of honour, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia hailed the launch of the GMX music streaming app as a historic moment for Ghana.
According to the Flagbearer of the NPP, “This is a historic moment for Ghana…to have our own music streaming app..it is my distinct honour and pleasure to formally launch GMX, Ghana’s locally made streaming app”.
