HIPLIFE musician Wutah Kobby, of the defunct music duo Wutah has officially dropped Dollar Dollar, the first single and title track of his upcoming EP scheduled for release later this year.
Dollar Dollar is to reintroduce the talented artiste who has been off the music radar for more than five years.
The song is a blend of rich, traditional Ghanaian rhythms with contemporary afrobeat influences, a style that has defined Kobby's career and he is hoping will win the hearts of young audience.
Wutah Kobby’s career took flight as part of the renowned music duo, Wutah, who blessed music lovers with hit tracks including Kotosa and Big Dreams.
As a solo artiste, Kobby has continued to make waves, releasing albums such as Selfless Bliss and Abokobi.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Wutah Kobby described his comeback as a new chapter. “Dollar Dollar is a reflection of where I am musically right now. I'm blending the sounds that have influenced me over the years and pushing my creativity to new levels.
“Fans can expect a mix of love songs, social commentary, and relatable songs that speak to everyday experiences, all wrapped in Wutah Kobby’s signature style,” he said.
After going their separate ways for more than five years, Wutah Kobby, one half of the Wutah duo anticipated better days for the group when they were reunited in 2017.
The group hit the ground running after their comeback with hit songs Bronya and AK 47 which earned them Best Group at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
But that was probably an illusion as the group went their separate ways again in 2019 and much hadn’t been heard of them and their survival as solo artistes has always been questioned.
However, Wutah Kobby, real name, Daniel Nyarko Morris said he has put the past behind him and believes things will go well for him again adding, “ this is a new chapter”.
