Hakan Calhanoglu (Turkey)
Hakan Calhanoglu has truly established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world, transforming from a dynamic number 10 to a deep-lying playmaker in recent seasons. Internazionale have been the primary beneficiaries of this, reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2022-23 and winning the Serie A title in 2023-24, but Turkey have also enjoyed a more mature Calhanoglu, who will hope to guide the national team into the knockout rounds of Euro 2024.
Kvicha Kvaratskhelia (Georgia)
Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is one of the most exciting and dynamic players in European football, with his dribbling, skill and penchant for playing with rolled down socks leading to the nickname ‘Kvaradona’, in honour of Napoli and Argentina legend Diego Maradona. The 23-year-old will look to make a major impact in his first senior international tournament, having come through a testing season with the Partenopei in which he still put-up strong goals and assists numbers despite internal clashes with the club.
Bruno Fernandes (Portugal)
Manchester United endured a miserable season, but it would have been even worse were it not for Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder was the only player who produced anything like consistency for the Red Devils, and he will no doubt enjoy playing in a Portuguese outfit where he can at least share the burden of excellence with teammates such as Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix, Cristiano Ronaldo and Rafael Leao.
Patrik Schik (Czech Republic)
Patrik Schik has already made European Championship history by scoring the tournament’s longest ever goal (45 metres) at Euro 2020. The 28-year-old will head into Euro 2024 having helped Bayer Leverkusen enjoy a historic season of success, and he will be confident of inspiring the Czech Republic to match or perhaps even better their quarterfinal showing from the last continental tournament.
