There are 21 deserving entries selected by experienced assessors for the 5th Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) Literary Awards.

The winners shortlisted in no particular order would receive their awards at an event laced with music and poetry at the Omanye Aba, AMA Auditorium, in Accra.

For Novel, they are; Obiba Opare's Travels, by Felix K. Boahene, Kwansema's Choice by Godfred Edusei Derkyi, The Shrinking Bowl by Gheysika Adombire Agambila.

For Short story, they are; She Rescues and Other Stories by Genevieve Delali Antonio and The Other Side of Home by Eunice Mensah.

Poetry has The Matriarch's Verse by Apiorkor Seyram Ashong-Abbey, The Sound of the Tsetse Drum by Kofi Acquah and The Dedicadas: A Chapbook by Reinfred Dziedzorm Addo.

Children's Story book: The Contest and Other Spiderman Tales by Adolika Nenah Sowah, A Mother Says No by Daniel Takyi Antwi Boasiako and Trotro Trio Book 1: A Blast To The Past by Ruby Yayra Goka.

Creative Non-Fiction: Plenty Talk Dey 4 Ghana by Radio Eye - Edited by Kofi Akpabli, Paying My Debt by Daniel Owusu Koranteng and They Call Me Archie - Amazing Journey by Dr Rosina Acheampong.

Spoken Word (Video/Audio): Where I come From by Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr, Hawk and Hen by Pobee Mwintombo.

Ghanaian Language Special Award: Me Kristosom Abrabo Ho Anwense by Ernest Perbi-Asare, Nu Nyui Ade Ke by Gifty Akosua Baka.

Science and Mathematics Special Writers Award: Adventures of Hurricane and Tornado - Episode 1 - Building a Boat by Godfred Edusei Derkyi, Unravelling the Essentials of Health and Wealth by Dr Kojo Cobba Essel.

Ten other awards would be be given to three people in the Distinguished Awards category and seven people in the Achievements Category.

The non-competitive Awards would go to individuals who have been of service to GAW and the Achievement Award to people whose achievement in the Arts have been outstanding.
