In a statement to TMZ about his release, Meek wrote, “While the past five months have been a nightmare, the prayers, visits, calls, letters and rallies have helped me stay positive.” He says he’s working with his legal team on overturning his conviction. Soon after his release, Meek made his first public appearance at a Philadelphia 76ers game, arriving by helicopter with the team’s co-owner Michael Rubin.
