The Royal Jordanian(RJ) airline has been selected to be the official carrier for next year's World Economic Forum (WEF) on the Middle East, local daily The Jordan Times reported on Sunday.
RJ President and CEO Samer Majali signed the agreement with Middle East WEF Director Sharif al-Diwany on Saturday.
According to Majali, this is the fifth time RJ is selected to be the forum's official carrier since its first meeting in Jordan in 2003.
Majali stressed that the selection of RJ shows appreciation for this leading airline in the Middle East, which, he added, enjoys a "solid international reputation for quality service and extensive route network."
The company has been sponsoring a variety of prominent conferences and exhibitions held in Jordan for more than 40 years.
The 2009 World Economic Forum on the Middle East will be held at the Dead Sea, Jordan, from May 15 to 17.
The international forum will engage leaders in dialogue to identify key regional dynamics and international trends that will position the region in the next decade.
More than 1,200 celebrities from the highest level of political and business world are expected to take part in the meeting.
