“This year’s 9th Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC) will host the second meeting of the Global Debt Initiative under the overarching theme: “Spurring GITFiCs Global Debt Initiative; Consolidating Member States Gains for Synergistic Impact” and also the inaugural GITFiC-AfCFTA Tertiary Students’ Congress, marking a significant expansion of GITFiC’s engagement rooted in The GITFiCs Agenda 2031”. 

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said the event is scheduled to take place from 27th to 29th November 2025 in Accra, Ghana. The three-day programme which is on the team “Spurring GITFiC’s Global Debt Initiative; Consolidating Member States’ Gains for Synergistic Impacts will convene Ministers from Member States, Central Bank Governors, International Development Experts, Global Economists, Business Leaders, Academia, and Civil Society. It will also engage in top-level dialogue on debt, trade, and regional integration under the AfCFTA and the Maiden AfCFTA Tertiary Students’ Congress which is set to empower Africa’s next generation to shape the future of trade and finance.

Complimenting GITFiCs implementation of the AfcFTA Students Clubs and Curriculum across Africa, a key highlight of this year’s edition is the inauguration of the GITFiC AfCFTA Students Congress, an initiative designed to empower young Africans to engage in policy dialogue and contribute meaningfully to the implementation of the AfCFTA. “This milestone demonstrates GITFiC’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of thinkers, entrepreneurs, and leaders who will shape Africa’s economic future.
