The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) has announced the Minimum Producer Price (MPP) for second-grade fresh mangoes for the 2025 major season at GH¢4.8242 per kilogramme.
In a statement issued in Accra, the Authority noted that the pricing decision was made in accordance with Section 3(f) of the Tree Crops Development Authority Act, 2019 (Act 1010) and Regulation 47(1) of the Tree Crops Regulations, 2023 (L.I. 2471).
The price was set following consultations with key stakeholders, including the Federation of Association of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE) and actors across the mango value chain.
According to the TCDA, “producers with first-grade mangoes are allowed to negotiate for a premium price above the stated MPP,” a measure aimed at incentivising quality within the mango industry.
The Authority added that the new price directive is part of a strategic intervention to “guarantee equitable income for farmers, improve export competitiveness, and promote transparency in the marketing of Ghana’s six selected tree crops under TCDA, including mango, coconut, cashew, rubber, oil palm, and shea.”
Ghana’s mango sector is one of the fastest-growing tree crop industries, contributing significantly to export earnings, rural employment, and agro-industrial development.
The TCDA plays a critical role in regulating and developing these selected tree crops.
