As part of activities to promote a peaceful, free and fair election, the Ghana Export-Import Bank (GEXIM) will on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, organise a special edition of its popular Small and Medium-sized Enterprise fairs dubbed “Freedom Mart”.
“Freedom Mart” is dedicated to sensitising Ghanaians on the importance of a peaceful country, a prerequisite for national development and under the theme “A Peaceful Ghana to Promote Trade“. It is scheduled to take place at the forecourt of the Bank’s headquarters, Africa Trade House, in Ridge, Accra and next to the British Council, from 8 am to 8 pm.
There will be a wide range of innovative, affordable, authentic and quality Made-In-Ghana products and services of world-class standard on exhibition at affordable prices.
They include food and ingredients, beverages, skin and beauty products, textiles, apparel and garments, leather footwear and slippers and many more.
Commenting on the rationale for the “Freedom Mart”, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of GEXIM, responsible for Banking, Ms. Rosemary Beryl Archer indicated the need for Ghanaians to protect and safeguard the peace and stability they enjoy currently before, during and after the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
“As we approach the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, the importance of maintaining peace and stability cannot be overstated. Ghana has long been a beacon of democracy and the shining star of the African continent with credible and orderly electoral processes.
“We are using the Freedom Mart to send across the need for a collective commitment to peace. Without a peaceful country, there will be no development and trade cannot thrive, hence, the need for peace,” she emphasised.
Whilst urging Ghanaians to remain peaceful through the electoral process, she encouraged members of the general public to participate in the “Freedom Mart” on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Africa Trade House to witness and purchase out-of-this-world Ghanaian-made products at unbeatable prices.
