Telecom giant, MTN Ghana has launched its annual Ashantifest celebration with a pledge to invest an amount of 207 million dollars to enhance its operations across the country.
The company said it remained committed to enhancing customer experience through the best service delivery as its marks its 25th anniversary as the leading telecom operator in Ghana.
The 2021 edition of the Ashanti festival which coincides with the company’s 25th anniversary is expected to bring excitement and joy to stakeholders as a series of activities are being rolled out throughout the week-long event.
Speaking to journalists during the launch of the annual event in Kumasi, Northern Business District; Nii Adotey Mingle said it will allow MTN to interact and further deepen the company’s relationship with stakeholders in the value chain.
He added that it was also to show appreciation to customers for their loyalty over the 25 years the company operated in Ghana.
MTN, he said, was rewarding customers with packages as part of the commemoration of the company’s 25th anniversary, indicating that about 250 top customers have already received the latest phone on the market.
Mr. Adotey Mingle further said as part of the activities, a football tournament among eight communities and an invitational golf tournament are key highlights for the 2021 Ashantifest and will complement other festivals in the Region which showcase the rich culture of the Ashanti Kingdom.
“For the network proper, we are investing 207 million US Dollars to enhance what we have already. We are by far the largest telecom operator in the country, but we are investing more to ensure that in every corner you find yourself in you can make a call if you have an MTN SIM”, he said
MTN customers in the Ashanti Region receive an additional 500 megabytes for every data purchased during the month-long celebration.
He cautioned customers to be mindful of fraudsters and tricksters and report them to the nearest MTN office to aid in the arrest of these culprits.
