Airtel Ghana, the Smartphone Network has rewarded more than 1.2M customers three weeks into the Wo Mmer? Nie recharge promotion. Wo Mmer? Nie is the telecom industry’s biggest and most rewarding recharge promotion launched to empower Airtel prepaid customers to live their dreams and fully realise their potential.
Customers have been rewarded with instant airtime, social media and data bundles, smartphones and cash prizes since the promotion was launched in February.
Making the announcement at a brief ceremony to present the second weekly winner with his GHC 10,000 prize money, Rosy Fynn, Marketing Director of Airtel Ghana said “We launched this bold promo to enrich the lives of our customers and empower them to live their dreams to the fullest. Since launch, over 1.2M customers have been rewarded and we expect this number to grow exponentially in the coming weeks as the excitement spreads and more customers participate in the industry’s biggest promo.
Today, we are rewarding our second weekly prize winner, Yaw Bio Yentumi-Mensah, with a cash prize of GHC 10,000. Yaw secured the highest accumulated points at the end of week two. In addition to his cash prize, he also walks away with a smartphone for accumulating the highest points at the end of the day. He joins the tall list of customers who have been rewarded till date”.
The ‘Wo Mmer? Nie’ recharge promo is open to all Airtel prepaid customers. Customers receive points whenever they recharge with GHS 2 and above. These points accumulate overtime and customers with the highest accumulated points at the end of every day, week and month win prizes such as talk time, data bundles and smartphones for daily winners and cash prizes of GHC 10,000 and GHC 25,000 respectively for weekly and monthly winners.
The winner, Yaw Bio Yentumi-Mensah, A management trainee with the Forestry Commission in Accra said “I heard about this promotion on radio and decided to participate by recharging and also playing the SMS trivia. I was surprised when Airtel called me last week to announce that I was the winner for the week. I am really excited to be the recipient of the GHC 10,000 weekly. For me, this is the first time I am winning anything in a promotion. It goes a long way to show that the Wo Mmer? Nie promo is real. I am going to invest this money whilst keeping an eye on the grand prize of GHC 150,000”.

Grand prize of GHC 150,000
At the end of the promotion, the customer with the highest points wins the ultimate prize of GHC 150,000. The first and second runners-up take home a whopping GHC 100,000 and GHC 75,000 respectively.
SMS Trivia to build points faster
Customers also have the opportunity to build up points by playing the innovative SMS trivia by sending START to 477 to subscribe and answer questions.
Double points for recharges using Airtel Money
Airtel prepaid customers who recharge or purchase data bundles using Airtel Money automatically receive double points for every recharge worth GHC 2 and above.
Points accumulated weekly and monthly are automatically rolled over to the following month to give every customer an increased chance of winning.
Customers can check their accumulated points by sending POINTS to 477. Weekly and monthly cash prizes will be paid to customers via their Airtel Money wallets within 24 hours.
