Daewoo Engineering and Construction Co., South Korea's fourth-largest builder, said Sunday that it has won a US$250 million order from Nigeria to build a gas-processing facility in the African nation.
The project calls for the construction of the facility in Nigeria's Otumara region for 37 months, ordered by Shell Petroleum Development Co., a joint venture between the global oil giant Shell and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corp.
Under the deal, Daewoo will engage in the entire process of the project ranging from engineering and procurement to construction.
A Daewoo official said his company, which has so far this year chalked in $1.13 billion in overseas orders, hopes it will achieve more than $5.3 billion in clinching overseas orders.
