The GSE All-Share Index climbed up 49.73 points to 6,568.18 points from 6,518.88 points as financial stocks rallied to push it up.
This brings the gain so far this year to 17.88 per cent.
Shares that changed hands begins the week stronger at 2.33 million shares valued at GH¢1.86 million.
On the broader market, there were 10 price changes-equally shared between the gainers and losers.
Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) is up GH¢0.15 at GH¢1.60, Cal Bank gained GH¢0.03 at GH¢0.26, SG-SSB Bank adds GH¢0.03 at GH¢0.54, State Insurance Company went up GH¢0.03 at GH¢0.37 and Standard Chartered Bank inches up by GH¢0.01 at GH¢39.72.
The laggards were Benso Oil Palm Plantation down GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.49, Ghana Commercial Bank sheds GH¢0.01 at GH¢1.12, Ecobank Ghana eases GH¢0.01 at GH¢3.56, Enterprise Insurance Company slips GH¢0.02 at GH¢1.62, and UT Financial Services is down GH¢0.02 at GH¢0.21.
Market Capitalization closed the session at GH¢18,263.08 million up from GH¢18,225.16 million on Friday.
