Facebook-owned messaging service WhatsApp has announced the imminent introduction of a new feature that allows users to share their location in real-time with family or friends. The end-to-end encrypted feature works by clicking on the "Share Live Location” option under “Location" in the app's attach button. Users can then choose for how long they want to share (15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours) and tap send, allowing each person in the chat to be able to see their real-time location on a map. If more than one person shares their Live Location in the group, all locations will be visible on the same map, said WhatsApp.
