The Bolgatanga Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday elected their Executives to run the affairs of the Party for a term of two years.
Mr Abdulai Akuno was elected the Constituency Chairman when he secured 149 votes to beat Mr Yamba Abubakari Atongo and Mr Sylvester Orando, who polled 109 and 4 votes, respectively.
Mr Thomas Amare secured the Vice Chairmanship position with 152 votes while his contestant Mr Apea David polled 111 votes. Mr Roland Ayoo, who
stood for the secretary position polled 173 whilst his contestant, Mr Elia Ayimbila Apasiya got 91 votes.
The Deputy Secretary went to Gouge Abane with 153 votes while his contestant, Mr Michael Akabure secured 112 votes.
Mr Adamu Agandaa, who emerged as the Treasurer got 142 to beat his contestant, Asulley Seidu, who polled 124 votes. The Deputy Treasurer went
to Fuseini Ayaa with 159 votes to beat his opponent Mr. James Adagrun who secured 107 votes.
Mr Aboore Adongo emerged as the Organizing Secretary whilst Mr Francis Asare was elected Deputy organising Secretary. Mr Hudu Yahaya emerged as the Propaganda Secretary while Mr Kasim Adam Azika became the Deputy Propaganda
Secretary.
The Immediate-Past Chairman of the Constituency, Mr Epsona Harry Ayamga
commended the members, especially the contestants for the matured way they conducted themselves during the elections.
He urged them to remain united and to forge ahead by working hard to get more members into the Party to enable it retain power in the 2012 elections.
The Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga Constituency, Mr Opam Browm Akolbire reiterated the need for the members of the Party to remain focused and to adopt more effective means of attracting new members into their fold.
Expressing his satisfaction about the election, the MP stated that he decided to stay neutral to allow the Party members to choose their own leaders and not his favourites.
The election was conducted by the Regional Directorate of the Electoral Commission.
