Mr Samuel Asamoah, Kwahu East District Chief Executive, on Wednesday said development projects in all the communities would be fairly distributed irrespective of political affiliation to enhance the development of the citizenry.
He therefore advised chiefs and people in the district to bury their political differences and support government policies and programmes to
enhance development.
Mr Asamoah gave the assurance when he broke the ground for the construction of a three classroom block, office and a store estimated at GH¢ 38,710 for the Ridge Junior High School at Abetifi.
The project is being funded by the World Bank through the Community Based Rural Development Project (CBRDP) under the Ministry of Local
Government and Rural Development.
Mr Asamoah said since the country's development depended largely on education, the Government had put in place adequate measures such as construction and rehabilitation of educational infrastructures, increase in the capitation grant, adequate supply of text and exercise books and expansion of the school feeding programme to a number of schools to help
increase enrolment.
He warned that the assembly would not entertain shoddy works by contractors and urged the community members to monitor contractors to ensure that they worked to meet the required standards.
Mr Asamoah advised parents to send their children to school to reduce the high illiteracy rate in the country.
Mr Abraham Sowah, Kwahu South District Director of Education, commended the Government for the provision of the classroom block, which he said would enhance enrolment in the schools.
