President John Evans Atta Mills and Vice John Dramani Mahama, at week-end donated various items to a number of Muslim groups in Accra, and thanked them for their prayers for national peace, unity and progress.
The donations, made on behalf of the two first gentlemen by Mr. Mahama Ayariga, Presidential Spokesperson, at the end of the Muslim fasting and praying period, included bags of rice, rams and cartons of cooking oil.
The Office of the National Chief Imam received 150 bags of rice, three rams and 15 cartons of cooking oil; the Council of Muslims had 150 bags of rice, two rams, three cartons cooking oil, the Coalition of Muslims Organisations had 40 bags of rice and five cartons of cooking oil while the Federation of Ghana Muslims had 40 bags of rice and five cartons of cooking oil
Other beneficiary groups were the Al Suna Wa Jamal which had 80 bags of rice, two rams and 15 cartons of cooking oil, the Ahmadiya Muslim Mission had 80 bags of rice, one ram and 10 cartons of cooking oil.
Chief Imoro Issah, Public Relations Officer of the Muslims Council, thanked the President and his Vice for their support, and prayed for a successful term of office.
