Nana Poku Dankonto II, Chief of Asekye-Krukese in the Nkoranza North District, has stated that the success of personalities in leadership positions largely depends on their advisors and staff.
He therefore urged traditional rulers, political and religious leaders to be extra cautious of people they worked with to avoid making mistakes that would invite criticisms about their administration.
Nana Dankonto made the remark when he welcomed the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Mr. Kwadwo Adjei-Dwomoh, to the community.
The chief deplored the practice by which some elders and political party supporters criticize leaders unnecessarily, and said it retards progress.
Nana Dankonto called on residents of the area to support the DCE to accelerate the development of the district.
He advised the DCE to respect the views of the people and operate an open door administration to win the confidence of the people.
Mr. John Opoku, Assembly Member, called on the district assembly to provide the community with low tension poles for the extension of electricity to the newly developed areas.
He appealed for the construction of a place of convenience to enhance sanitation in the community.
Mr. Opoku noted that the only grinding machine at the gari processing factory in the area had broken down and had affected the economic activities of women, and appealed to the assembly to rehabilitate it.
The DCE commended the people for giving him a rousing welcome, and assured them that the district assembly would ensure the equitable distribution of its resources to all communities.
He appealed to the people to bury their political differences and forge ahead in unity so they would collectively initiate and complete development programmes.
