UN Secretary-General Ban Ki- moon is scheduled to visit Washington later this week for talks with US Vice President Joe Biden and Energy Secretary Steven Chu, UN Spokesperson Michele Montas announced at the United Nations on Tuesday.
Montas told a news briefing that the Secretary-General is also expected to take part in a discussion on international affairs at the Brookings Institution on Thursday evening.
Ban is scheduled to meet Vice President Biden on Thursday afternoon to discuss global issues.
Vice President Biden just returned from a trip to Kosovo, Bosnia, Serbia and Lebanon.
One of Ban's top priorities is to promote global action to combat climate change, which the secretary-general said encounters the world alongside with the financial, food and energy crises.
