A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Kofi Mintah, has appealed to supporters of the party against making the offices of the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief executives their second home.
He said party supporters should give the chief executives time to clear the work load that had piled up over the past five months.
"As people who have just assumed office, they need time to settle down, therefore any undue pressure on them at this time can make them to lose focus," Mr. Mintah said at a meeting with party supporters at Winneba Junction.
He said though it was the duty of the chief executives to grant audience to people this must not be done at the expense of their administrative duties.
Mr. Mintah, who is the Chairman of the Central Regional Disciplinary Committee of the party, cautioned the supporters not to over burden the chief executives with their personal and family problems such as payment of child's school fees, hospital bills and personal loans.
"Do not forget that the chief executives also have families to cater for with their salaries. Do not make demands that can corrupt them," he said.
He advised the chief executives to go out and lobby non-governmental organizations (NGO) and donor agencies for assistance to support the assemblies' resources.
