Members of East Akyem Municipal
Assembly on Wednesday confirmed Mr Simon Asirifi, as East
Akyem Municipal Chief Executive.
At an emergency meeting held at Kyebi, Mr Asirifi polled 32 out
of the 40 votes cast.
Mr Asirifi thanked the assembly members for the confidence
reposed in him and gave the assurance that he would live up to
expectation.
Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Eastern Regional Minister, advised
Mr Asirifi to be humble and work hard towards development of the
municipality.
The members also elected Mr Seth Duku Yeboah, unopposed as
Presiding Member after two other contestants stepped down.
Mr Yeboah polled 35 out of the 40 votes cast.
He thanked the assembly members for giving him the nod and
promised to conduct his affairs in a non-partisan manner to help
accelerate development in the area.
